Is Metro Atlanta housing market

going to crash in 2019?

When many forecast predictions are pointing toward a real estate market collapse at the end of  2019/2020, and I see similar to 2007/2008 market pattern going on now, still the Atlanta Housing Market looks great.

My opinion is that if you are in the $200-400K price range, I don't see any reason you should  worry about it. The inventory is still low, interest rates are still low, the job market is awesome..

Metro Atlanta is growing, the housing prices are still the lowest in the country, we have many people relocating from up North and West because it's much cheaper to make a living down here.

However, if your home is in the $ 500K and above, I am noticing some increase in the days on the market.

According to Zillow’s Survey the three real estate markets that were “most likely to outperform the U.S.” in 2019 were:

  1. Dallas, Texas
  2. Washington, D.C.
  3. Atlanta, Georgia

Home prices in Atlanta rose by around 7.5 % over the past year.

Of course, we need to consider many other factors as interest rates, stock market, jobs, etc. Just beware of what is happening and do your homework.

If you are on the market to sell, have realistic expectations of the market value of your home, consult a professional, interview at least 3 agents, and find the one who you most trust.
